Today, a student mingled with English somehow for years is still not able put two words together about his life, education, background or his interests as a result of the traditional education system continuing in Turkey. It seems that even the people who got educated in English in schools do not know the words which represent the parts in Turkey such as Üsküdar İskelesi and Babaili Yokuşu,mud brick and rosary'. Like this, a student tries to learn English with traditional methods has to learn words such as giraffe, pig and Big Ben Clock Tower which will never have take an important in his/her life, instead of learning words such as School of Business Administration, school manager, diploma, tuition fees, government office, etc which are going to be in an important part in his/her life. For example, through their secondary education, over 2000 English words which are planned to be taught in the classes at least 2 hours a week, it is possible for students to encounter the words which are not directly related to their lives but the words that are very directly related to their lives such as Republic of Turkey, the star and the crescent, Ottoman Empire and Islam. Consequently, when a Turkish person meeting a foreigner finds it very difficult to talk about the topics that are related to his/her own life. One of the reasons why Turkey had failure to make itself known in abroad for years is debatable that whether the deficiency arises from foreign language education system or not.

We can find a solution for foreign language education problem that will prevent students' alienation and participation in group of 'foreign language retirement' with increasing boredom in using materials arising in Turkey in the Institution of Turkish Education. Apart from English learning materials originated from England and America, it's so natural that foreign experts cannot know the needs of Turkish students as Turkish teachers do even if they have been living in Turkey for years, As they cannot understand the Turkish students’ life and the way how the students understand, who are from different cultures, the materials that are prepared by these experts are difficult to be successful considering Turkish students.

Comment: I found this article very challenging becasue almost all of the sentences are too long and long sentences are hard o translate. The sentences, structure and vocabularies are very complicated for me. I sometimes had difficulty to find the equivalences of the words in Turkish.
